Alaska Airlines Refund Policy

You can cancel your Alaska Airlines tickets anytime you need to, but you won't lose your money if you do so due to an unavoidable circumstance or personal emergency.

Alaska Airlines' Refunds Policy explains how you can get a refund on cancelled Alaska Airlines flights.

Alaska Airlines Refunds Rules and Regulations

Alaska Airlines will refund a partially or entirely unused ticket if the ticketed reservation is cancelled prior to departure. Refund eligibility will depend on the following conditions.

These terms apply to online cancellations of tickets and credit requests.

  • The ticket must have been issued by Alaska Airlines on the official website, Alaska Airlines reservation center, or at an Alaska ticket counter.

  • You cannot cancel a Saver Fare after the 24-hour cancellation window.

  • It is not a government policy

  • You must be within one-year of the original purchase

  • It shouldn't take more than one year to use partially used tickets

  • You cannot be part of a vacation package or group booking

  • Alaska Airlines is the only airline that allows unaccompanied minors to fly.

  • The currency used to purchase the ticket must be US dollars

  • When requesting a refund, the customer must give all flight coupons or documents that have not been used.

You can request a refund online, at Alaska Airlines Reservation Call Center, at an Alaska ticket counter or through an OTA/third party travel agency. However, you must request it within the ticket's validity. Otherwise, the refund request will not be honored after the ticket's expiration date. All eligible refundable reservations will receive a refund in the original payment form.

Alaska Airlines 24-cancellation Policy states that refunds can be made to the original payment for wholly unused reservations (including Saver tickets) cancelled within 24 hours of the initial purchase. However, travel must not begin more than 24 hours after cancellation.

Alaska Airlines My Wallet may issue a credit certificate for non-refundable tickets that are cancelled within the first 24 hours. Customers will be subject to any change fees when the credit certificate is issued or credit deposit is made.

The customer can cancel the reservation online even if it is not eligible for credit or refund online. However, the value of the reservation may be exchanged.

Alaska Airlines will issue refunds in the same format as the original payment. The refund for tickets purchased using a credit card shall be processed within seven (7) days after the date of the refund request and credited to the same credit account. Alaska Airlines will issue a check within 20 business days for tickets purchased with cash.

Request for Refund of Lost Tickets

A customer must apply for a refund within one (1) month of the expiry date of the lost tickets. Alaska Airlines won't issue refunds sooner than four (4) month after receipt of proof that the loss occurred. Alaska Airlines will charge $60 per ticket for refunds of lost tickets.
